The incident happened in the 89th minute of Spurs’ 1-0 home win on Saturday when Son was substituted. As the South Korean captain left the lawn, he had to pass a section of Palace supporters, one of whom made the offending gesture.

«We are aware of a video online (as well as reports made to us directly) of an individual in the upper part of the visitors’ stand during the game against Spurs yesterday, appearing to make racist gestures towards Heung-min Son“Palace said in a statement.

«The evidence has been handed over to the police and when he is identified he will be subject to a stadium ban. We will not tolerate such behavior at our club.“, adds the text.

Tottenham, who said they were working with Palace and the police to identify the individual, strongly protested the attack on their player: “Discrimination of any kind is abhorrent and has no place in society, in our sport and in our club».

This is not the first outrageous behavior aimed at Son. Already in August, the South Korean winger had been the victim of racist insults during the other London derby against Chelsea (2-2) at Stamford Bridge.

This incident had then led Chelsea to exclude for an indefinite period a subscribed supporter after the broadcast on social networks of a video showing him making racist remarks towards Son.
