RCB beat CSK by 13 runs in the league match of the IPL T20 in Pune yesterday. Batting first, RCB added 173 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. CSK, who set a target of 174 for victory, lost by 13 runs, adding 160 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs.

In an interview with CSK captain Dhoni after the loss in this match, he said:
We beat the RCB team by 170 runs. But, we failed because our batting was not good. What I think especially when chasing is that the batsman knows how many runs are needed and how the bowlers perform. At that time you need to control your mind and not just play shots, but realize what the environment needs and what kind of run is needed.
If the batsmen had played a little better, they would not have needed more runs in the last few overs to win. It started well, the wickets were in hand and the pitch was good. The reason for the defeat was to line up the wickets at regular intervals.
If you are careful about things like this, chasing is more than planning and batting first is more than intuitive. Batsmen batting in the middle order should think of things like this.
