The management of CSKA came out with a position on the problematic situation surrounding the holding of the eternal derby with “Levski” from the 8th round of the championship.
“On the occasion of the media interest, we would like to categorically emphasize that CSKA’s position regarding the playing of the football match with Levski remains unchanged and consistent.
Given the impossibility of the match with Levski, scheduled for the weekend of September 14-15, to be played at the traditional venue – Vasil Levski Stadium, the management of CSKA insists that the match be postponed. The goal is one – all supporters – both “red” and ” blue”, not to be deprived of one of the most significant football events in our country.
In this way, the Ordinance on football championships and tournaments in the BFS system, season 2024-2025, will be observed, which clearly regulates that the Eternal Derby is held only at the Vasil Levski National Stadium, namely:
Art. 29, item 2 “The matches from the First League and Cup Bulgaria, between the teams of PFC “Levski” and PFC “CSKA-Sofia” are played at the national “Vasil Levski” stadium.
We are convinced that football is for the people and it is not right for the biggest game in Bulgaria to be deprived of its most colorful asset – the supporters. In expressing our position, we are guided entirely by the thought that the fans should be put first in importance, and the passion for football should be preserved as much as possible. We believe that this will be the leading factor in the decision by the Bulgarian Football Union”, CSKA wrote.
