Cuauhtémoc Mayor’s Office officially closes Casa Migrante

After a year and a half of its authorization, Cuauhtémoc Mayor’s Office made official the closing of the Migrant House in the Juarez neighborhood, through a notice of cessation of activities published on September 9 in the Official Gazette of Mexico City.

The document orders the cessation of all activities carried out in the Migrant House in Cuauhtémoc and, therefore, its closure, under the understanding that there are specialized bodies that, in the exercise of their powers, provide the humanitarian support required by migrants.

In the publication of the notice, it is acknowledged that “the conditions of the Migrant House have become complicated because the assistance requested by foreign persons It is more demanding and they seek to establish it permanently, which breaks the provisional scheme with which it was created.”

The above, coupled with the fact that the budgets for this purpose were not defined for this exercise budget and does not have the staff to provide assistance on site, it reads.

For the above reasons, it is ordered that the property be taken over by the Juárez San Rafael Territorial under the necessary conditioning, already assigned human infrastructure and the communications of the virtual citizen service areas that are established, giving notice to the Digital Agency for Public Innovation for its optimal operation.
