In a statement, it indicated that the election for the municipal presidency of Cuautepec de Hinojosaas a result of the violent incidents that marked the election day of June 2.

In this regard, the judge Lilibet García Martínez proposed to cancel the results in favor of Morena, after considering that the circumstances seriously affected the electoral process.

He Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) and his candidate challenged the validity initially granted to the candidate of Morena, Jorge Hernandez Arausarguing that the loss of 36 of the 74 electoral packages due to the intervention of armed groups caused the destruction of several polling stations.

In addition, the election day was marked by acts of violence that prevented the proper counting of votes in more than half of the polling stations. Of the 74 ballot boxes, the election was certified in only 43. In 17 polling stations, the vote was reconstructed, while in another 20 irregularities were detected, of which 12 were declared null.

He TEE determined that violations of the constitutional principle of certainty and legality were decisive, as 41.8% of the electoral packages affected in 31 polling stations could not be validated.

“This lack of certainty therefore prevents the true will of the citizens from being reflected in conditions of equality. Consequently, the Court revoked the validity of the election.”

The file was sent to the Institute Hidalgo State Electoral Institute (IEEH) and to Congress local so that the appropriate measures can be taken.

“This decision underlines the importance of ensuring electoral processes free of violence and with full transparency, thus ensuring respect for the will of the voters and the integrity of democracy,” the court said.
