Cuba and Belize analyze immigration issues

Diplomatic representatives of Cuba and Belize are engaged in round IV of migration talks today, which will last until tomorrow in Belmopan, the capital of the Central American nation.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, the parties will analyze the situation of the flow of migration between the two countries and the crimes related to it.

Likewise, they will verify compliance with the Memorandum of Understanding on the Exchange of Migration Alerts and Security Information as an effective instrument to achieve regular, orderly and safe migration.

The Belize delegation is headed by Amalia Mai, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Immigration, and Ana Teresita González Fraga, director general of Consular Affairs and Attention to Cubans Living Abroad, chairs the Cuban delegation.

Within the framework of the event, González Fraga met with a representation of Cuban health collaborators who provide their services in the Central American nation.

The agenda of the Cuban delegation also includes a meeting with fellow citizens living in Belize, as an indication of the strengthening of ties between the Caribbean nation and its expatriates.
