(EFE).- Cuban gymnast Diorges Escobar was proclaimed this Saturday runner-up on floor in the apparatus World Cup held in Cairo.
It is the first Cup of the season. At the end of the series, the two best in each apparatus who are not already qualified for the Olympic Games will obtain the ticket to Paris.
In the floor final, the South Korean Sunghyun Ryu won with 14,066 points, followed by Diorges Escobar, with 13,900, and the Bulgarian Eddie Penev, with 13,800. Jordanian Ahmad Abu al Soud took the victory and the 30 points that come with it thanks to his score of 15.066 on pommel horse. The South Korean Woong Hur completed the podium with 14,933 and the Kazakh Zeinolla Idrissov with 14,800.
In the rings, the North Korean Ryong Il Jong triumphed, with a score of 14,600. He was followed by the Armenian Vahagn Davtyan, 14,500, and the Italian Salvatore Maresca, 14,500. Argentine Daniel Villafañe finished seventh, with 14,200.
