Hillsborough County police arrested Silvio Ramón Franco Peralta, a 35-year-old Cuban, accused of murdering his partner, Liannet Sosa Santos, and another man in Tampa, Florida.

Liannet, 31, the mother of a five-year-old girl, was found dead in her home. The second murder occurred shortly after, when Franco attacked another man whose identity has not been revealed.

Felix Llerena, a relative of the victim, expressed his grief on social media: “My family is in mourning. Yesterday in Tampa, Florida, my cousin Liannet Sosa was murdered at the hands of her husband. She had a little girl. The criminal fled and also murdered another person. He has already been arrested. We will always remember you, my cousin. RIP.”

The incident began around 2 p.m. in the 4800 block of Alvarado Drive in the Town ‘N’ Country community. Officers found Sosa with life-threatening injuries to his upper body and pronounced him dead at the scene. After committing the crime, the Cuban fled in the victim’s pickup truck.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) announced Franco’s arrest via social media, posting body camera footage from officers during the pursuit and arrest of the suspect. Sheriff Chad Chronister said, “It is devastating to know that a five-year-old child will grow up without his mother due to the senseless violence of this evil man. His complete disregard for human life has forever altered the lives of two families.”

Franco then went to a residence at 8710 N. Packwood Ave., where he killed the second man after an altercation. Tampa police found the victim with severe trauma to the upper body.

The Cuban tried to escape from the police, triggering a chase that ended at the intersection of Montague Street and Declaration Road. Despite trying to flee on foot, he was captured and arrested.

Franco faces multiple charges, including two counts of first-degree murder, armed robbery and aggravated escape. Authorities are continuing to investigate and could file more charges against him.
