Elpidio Martén Kindelán, who until recently served as a physiotherapist for the Cuban wrestling team, left the delegation in Spain shortly before the start of the Olympic Games that will take place in Paris.

The information was spread on social media by Roly Dámaso, who said that, apparently, the Cuban physiotherapist was told that he “no longer belonged to the delegation” due to alleged “budget cut problems.”

It is important to mention that, as of yet, the exact day that Martén Kindelán left the team is unknown.

“It is an unusual attitude given the magnitude of participating in the Olympic Games, but it demonstrates the degree of disillusionment and rejection of the current situation in Cuban society,” said Damaso in his publication.

The 30-year-old physiotherapist’s plans for the future are therefore unknown. What is certain is that, from now on, whatever he does, he will do it in the land of freedom.

A few days ago, it was also reported that sprinter Shainer Rengifo Montoya had abandoned the race, leaving behind the delegation that was in Guadalajara, Spain.

At that time, it was revealed that Rengifo left the hotel where the team was staying, embarking on his journey to a new life.

“The national record holder and Cuba’s top speed talent recently left the hotel where the rest of the team is staying in Guadalajara, Spain”Play Off Magazine reported.

There are many athletes who, taking advantage of their stays in other countries, escape the overwhelming poverty that prevails in the largest of the Antilles, whose officials are only concerned with their own benefits, despising and mistreating those who give everything in their respective disciplines.
