Details of the murder of the Cuban woman in Alabama
According to local media, Cuban Dianislady was apparently shot and killed and found dead by authorities in an apartment complex located in the city of Birmingham, specifically in the Avondale neighborhood, in Jefferson County.
Meanwhile, the suspect in this crime is an African-American named Johnny Ray Sears Jr., 44, of Birmingham, who has already been arrested by authorities and charged with murder in the woman’s death.
For his part, Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin assured the local press that both the Cuban woman and the African-American were “together to carry out an illegal operation,” of which he did not give further details.
Ray is currently being held in the city jail awaiting formal charges, given that the warrant was issued Friday morning and he is currently being held without bail.
Birmingham police said they are investigating the reasons that motivated the African-American to kill the Cuban woman.
On social media, people who knew Dianislady have lamented her sudden departure, while promoting initiatives through the GoFundMe platform to raise funds for funeral expenses. The petition specified that the Cuban woman’s family is on the communist island.
“I created this account for my childhood friend who unfortunately lost her life at the hands of a heartless man on Wednesday, July 3 in Alabama. She only has me and her best friend Karla Reyes Hernandez, who are asking good-hearted people to help us raise the money for funeral expenses,” They noted in the petition that more than 1 thousand dollars have already been raised, but the goal is 15 thousand.
