Cubana denies that they have been without water supply for 43 days

A neighbor of the neighborhood of Chicharrones in the province of Santiago de Cuba reported that they have been without water supply for 43 days, a situation that the Cuban authorities apparently did not respond to.

The woman reported this in a video shared by journalist Yosmany Mayeta on Facebook, in which the inhabitants of the town of Santiago are seen providing themselves with water thanks to a pipe bought by a neighbor.

“The crisis with the water supply in Santiago de Cuba is unlikely to end. Residents of Calle 20 Alto del Reparto Chicharrones report that they have not received the vital liquid through the pipes for 43 days,” Mayeta showed on the social network.

The Cuban woman who recorded the video said that “thanks to a neighbor who bought a pipe with water” today they can at least take buckets for their housework.

However, he noted: “And look at the color of the water,” showing the liquid in the containers darker than usual.

This water supply crisis, according to the journalist, also extends to other peripheral neighborhoods of the city.

In addition, he argued that “Aguas Santiago Aqueducts and Sewerage Company cannot find a solution to its constant breaks in the central pipe or ‘The teacher’, as it is known to many residents of Santiago.”

Mayeta finally insisted that he hopes “this company can quickly solve this problem and satisfy the residents of these neighborhoods who suffer from water shortages or send some pipes, so that many people can take advantage of it.”

From the ‘Hero City’, another citizen criticized the supply crisis this weekend, which showed the inefficiency of those responsible for public services.

Bricella Hernández is an oncology patient, as explained on Facebook, who underwent 25 surgeries, a cystostomy and suffers from urinary incontinence, as well as multiple pathologies.

In his publication he expressed his frustration at the lack of response from those in charge of the water supply and he recognized that it is a situation that is happening again and again in the different provinces of the country and that has worsened for some time.
