Singer, laureate of international competitions Sigutė Trimakaitė brings concerts and cultural educations to Birštonas for the first time. Last year, on her initiative, musical-literary talks for young people were organized in the Birštonas museum, and on March 23 of this year, a concert-meeting “Music – Literature – Theater” was held, which invited the resort’s senior citizens.
Sigutė Trimakaitė performed several short works by contemporary authors in Lithuanian, German, French, Portuguese, demonstrated several exercises for the voice, and ended the program with an ancient Lithuanian folk song, which was approved by the participants of the event. Writer Herkus Kunčius read texts written by himself from opera librettos on historical themes. Not indifferent to the work of the poet and director Arvydas Šlepik, the author presented the work from the collection “My father dies” and the short story “Great Mother”.
The director of the Birštonas Museum, Vilijeta Šalomskienė, thanked the guests for the afternoon organized at the museum, sharing her work. She expressed her belief that the musical-literary project being prepared together with the partners will be continued in the resort next year as well. The deputy mayor of Birštonas municipality, Vytas Kederys, who was present in the afternoon, also wished this.
