The medieval castle of Oria, privately owned and closed since 2007, “it must be reopened to the public, citizens, school groups, tourists”. This was stated by the councilor for culture of the Puglia Region, Massimo Bray, during a hearing in the VI commission: “It is an identifying asset of the history of a city, it deserves protection in the interest of all,” added Bray.

The strategy

A table will be convened that will involve the stakeholders to start a dialogue for a shared solution. The Superintendence of Cultural Heritage is available to discuss with the Municipality of Oria (Brindisi) and the owners to try to restore the monument to public use.
