Say hello to the new guy: Idan Wilkis, a new singer and creator, releases a debut single called “Curls”.
The song is a personal song that deals with the singer’s childhood as a student in elementary school, where he had to face cases of bullying and violence that still accompany him in his adult life. The story is also expressed in the music video that came out with the song.

The struggles, the singer says, shaped him into what he is today. “The piece emphasizes that despite the difficulties I faced, I stand here, before you, with the understanding that all those past experiences shaped me and turned me from a scared and insecure boy into the resourceful and goal-oriented man I am today.”
Idan Wilkis grew up in Hadera, and despite his strong connection to music he continued after high school to join the army, where he studied a profession as part of an engineering program. After six years as a soldier, Volkis realized that he wanted to fulfill his dream and become a musician, so he moved to study for a degree in music at the Ono Adamic College.
The song “Curls” is processed in flamenco style, which the singer was exposed to during a visit to Spain during his studies. As soon as he returned to Israel, he decided to purchase his first flamenco guitar, and began to combine the style with the familiar melodies from home in his works.
Words:
On the bench in the school garden
Satchel on his back, disappointed smile
A familiar story, a script of my life
Around me everyone is playing catch
I roll over, silence doesn’t go
Want to play, dream crashes
And today how we grew up, different directions
Look where we have come, after all these years
Shay repented and he doesn’t remember me
How I would be afraid to stay with him
Curls, curls
Childhood is so far away
And there was no forgiveness along the way
people change
But I will remember them forever
Will the fear pass?
Curls, curls
Childhood is so far away
And there was no forgiveness along the way
people change
But I will remember them forever
Will the fear go away on its own?
A large low table full of paintings
Immortalized moments, not winning
Doubt losers, torn clothes
And in my stomach, how I would roll over
In front of the thug on duty, a ruined world
just want to go home
Curls, curls
Childhood is so far away
And there was no forgiveness along the way
people change
But I will remember them forever
Will the fear pass?
Curls, curls
Childhood is so far away
And there was no forgiveness along the way
people change
But I will remember them forever
Will the fear go away on its own?
Curls, curls
Childhood is so far away
And there was no forgiveness along the way
people change
But I will remember them forever
Will the fear pass?
Curls, curls
Childhood is so far away
And there was no forgiveness along the way
life goes on
I choose to grow up
And the anger slowly releases
