The 21st edition of the bilateral naval exercise between India and France – Exercise Varuna will be held from 16 January 2023 to 20 January 2023 in the western seaboard.
The exercise facilitates operational-level interactions between the two navies to foster mutual cooperation, underscoring the two countries’ shared commitment to the safety, security and freedom of the global maritime commons.
Bilateral training between the two navies began in 1993; It was named ‘Varuna’ in 2001.
