Current Kovid vaccines are not effective against the Omicron virus, says Modena – NEWS 360 – WORLD

by time news

London: Stephen Bansal, head of American vaccine maker Modena, has said that the currently available vaccines will not be effective against Kovid’s new variant, Omicron. “Only by gathering more information about the omicron virus can we develop a suitable vaccine,” he said. He said it would take at least two weeks to gather the information itself and that it would take several more months to develop vaccines against the omicron virus. Stephen said the Covid virus was not the same as it had been in the past, and that the current vaccine against Delta would not guarantee the same for Omicon.

At the same time, Stephen pointed out that it would be foolish to use all of Modena’s current products to make a vaccine against omicron, and that this could adversely affect vaccine development against other variants of Kovid. He suggested that a booster dose of the Kovid vaccine itself be considered for adults and those with other health problems until the vaccine against Omicron arrives.
