Birmingham: India’s Priyanka Goswami has won a silver medal in the 10,000m walk at the Commonwealth Games.

With this, Priyanka from Uttar Pradesh has become the first Indian athlete to win a medal in the 10,000m walk at the Commonwealth Games.

The 22nd Commonwealth Games are being held in Birmingham, England. The final of the women’s 10,000 meters race was held today.

India’s Priyanka Goswami and Bhavna Jat took part in the event, where Priyanka finished second in the 10,000 meters in 43 minutes 38.83 seconds and won the silver medal.

Priyanka’s silver has taken India’s tally to 27.

India is fifth in the Commonwealth Games so far with a total of 27 medals including 9 gold, 9 silver and 9 bronze.

Australia, England, Canada and New Zealand are the top four countries in the medal table.
