Cyber espionage, hacking: Delhi company also bans Meta | Cyber crime

by time news

New Delhi: A Delhi-based company is among the seven companies banned by Meta (Facebook model company) for cyber espionage and hacking. The lawsuit was probably funded by the company, which has targeted more than half a million people in 100 countries via Facebook. Meta turned on other companies after a legal battle against the Pegasus-built ANSO group.

In Shakurpur, Delhi, 400 accounts belonging to Beltrox were removed. The other six companies are in China, Israel and northern Macedonia. The 1,500 accounts operated by these companies through WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook have been removed.

The web is in the name of a political leader

Beltrox’s mission was to extort personal information from individuals on behalf of clients. In 2013–19, he created a fake account of himself as an Indian political leader and contacted the victims online.

In addition, he was associated with journalists, environmentalists and many others. After collecting their personal information, a cyber attack was carried out. People from countries like Saudi Arabia and Australia have also been victims of Beltrox attacks.

This year too, Meta found that they were targeting many higher ups. Although Beltrox was formerly known as the Web Development, IT Security Counseling, and Cybercrime Investigation Agency, hacking is the main job. It is reported that Beltrox has been spying on 10,000 email accounts over the past 7 years.

Citizen Lab in Canada released details of Beltrox’s corporate espionage last year. The hacking was done via email with links (phishing) containing malware. Beltrox also leaked information to private spies in the US. The company is owned by Sumit Gupta. There are cases against him in the US as well.
