A cyber attack has taken place on the official website of the Sri Lanka Police Department (police.lk). This has been confirmed by a senior officer of the police headquarters.
However, within a few hours the website immediately returned to normal, the official said. When Veerakesari contacted senior police superintendent Nihal Talduwa, a police spokesman, he admitted that the police website had been hacked.
He also said that a statement will be issued explaining this. However, at the time of writing, the Police Headquarters has not issued any statement on this.
