jpnn.comJAKARTA – The Cyber Crime Directorate of the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit arrested an honorary teacher with the initials BAG (25) on suspicion of illegal access to the National Civil Service Agency (BKN) system. The arrest was made in the Banyuwangi area, East Java.
Director of Cyber Crime at the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Brigadier General Himawan Bayu Aji, said the data obtained by the suspect was then sold on certain sites using his account for personal gain.
“The suspect’s modus operandi was to carry out illegal access and sell data through breachforum.st for personal gain and the suspect received a profit of US$ 8,000 from the sale of the data,” said Himawan at the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Tuesday (24/9).
The high-ranking police officer explained that in October 2023, suspect BAG created an account on breachforums.st with the name topiax.
The suspect had previously created a topi_x account on breachforums.io in 2021.
“The suspect has distributed electronic data uploaded to the breachforum.st account (with the name) topiax as many as 40 electronic systems, which not only belong to BKN, but also belong to a university in America, a private company in America, Taiwan, Belgium, England, Thailand, South Africa, India and Hong Kong,” explained Himawan.
He said the case began on August 9, 2024. At that time, the perpetrator illegally accessed the BKN electronic system on the domain using credentials or login access belonging to the admin satudataasn.bkn.go.id which the perpetrator obtained from a forum at https://breachforums.st/.
On breachforum.st, you can find many credentials or username and password accounts of electronic systems from all over the world, where there are users who are still active and those who have expired.
