Behind the microphone for the men’s Tour de France since 2017, Marion Rousse, consultant for France Télévisions, will this time be on the other side, in the organization of the women’s Grande Boucle, which will return on July 24, 2022, after twelve years of absence.

The former professional cyclist, French road champion in 2012 and who said she dreamed in May 2020 of commenting on a women’s Tour, was named at the head of the race this Sunday by the organizer, Amaury Sport Organization. She was already deputy director of the Tour de Provence, since 2019, and the Tour de Savoie Mont-Blanc, since 2020.

The route unveiled on October 14

The women’s Tour de France will consist of eight stages, all broadcast on France Télévisions. The first will be judged on the Champs-Élysées, before the final arrival of the men. The course of this edition will be unveiled on October 14, at the Palais des Congrès in Paris.

On October 1 in Le Parisien, Marion Rousse explained to what extent a women’s Tour could serve as a locomotive for women’s cycling: “I am sure that the next generations of French women will be good because vocations will be born. Clearly, there will be a before and after Paris-Roubaix and the women’s Tour. »
