One-day race, the CIC Mont Ventoux will not be on the 2024 calendar due to the passing of the Olympic torch relay. Founded in 2019 as the Mont Ventoux Délevelé Challenge, this ProSeries level race sees the peloton tackle two climbs of the famous Provence mountain usually during the third weekend of June. The 2023 edition, the fifth of this one-day race for climbers, the finish of which is judged at the summit of the Géant de Provence, was won by the young French hopeful Lenny Martinez (Groupama-FDJ), then aged 19 years ago, on June 13.

This Thursday, the organizers announced that the 2024 edition will be canceled because the Olympic flame will pass through the region and climb the mountain on June 19. “The attention and resources absorbed by the passing of the flame meant that it was not possible to organize the race,” organizers said. The CIC Mont Ventoux will be organized in 2025.”
