“After the race I felt pretty good, but soon after I became sad because I heard that my girlfriend Urska had crashed in the Giro d’Italia and had a concussion. It’s sad news, much sadder than losing 50 seconds or a minute on Jonas Vingegaard,” he told reporters after the finish.
The fall of the Slovenian took place 30 kilometers from the finish. The 26-year-old Jayco-AlUla runner suffered multiple abrasions and a mild concussion. She will not take the start of the 7th stage.
