Still with several months to go to start the road cycling season, the teams from San Juan traveled to the province of Mendoza where the “Criterium and Track 2023” season began over the weekend. The cyclists representing teams from San Juan dominated, taking four of the top five places in the competition organized by the Mendocina Cycling Association.
Facundo Ambrossi, a Mendoza cyclist who is debuting with the “Chimbas Te Quiero” team, was victorious in Elite and Sub 23, second was his teammate Darío Álvarez. While third, Iván Escudero from Mendoza, from Guaymallén, completed. Fourth and fifth were also occupied by people from San Juan: Gerardo Tivani and Washington Roberto. The former Agrupación Virgen de Fátima wore the colors of “Fuerza Activa” and was fourth, while Washington Roberto, from the Municipality of Pocito team, completed the top five.
The test developed on Sunday took place in Guaymallén. The concentration was in the town ‘”Aldea La Primavera” and from there the peloton competed in a 10-kilometer street circuit to which they turned several laps depending on the category.
