2 more people died of burns due to gas cylinder leakage explosion in Gazipur Kaliakore. 5 people died in this incident.
They died in the ICU of Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute on Sunday (March 17) morning. Among them, Ariful Islam (35) was a garment worker and Maidul (30) worked in the godown of the factory.
Resident surgeon of the Burn Institute’s emergency department confirmed their death. Tariqul Islam said that 70 percent of Ariful’s body and 95 percent of Maidul’s body were burnt.
Ariful’s wife Sumi Akhtar said that their house is in Alaipur village of Bagha upazila of Rajshahi. Father’s name is A. Razzak Biswas. He lived in Kaliakore with his family. Both husband and wife work in a garment factory.
Meanwhile, the niece of the deceased Moidul. Akash said that Maidul’s house is in Barakhola village of Shahjadpur in Sirajganj. Father’s name is Sabet Kha. He worked in a godown in Kaliakore.
Earlier, a person named Sulaiman Molla (45) died on Friday morning and a burnt child named Tayba (3) died on Saturday evening and two others named Mansoor (32) died early in the morning. All of them were under treatment at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
On Wednesday (March 13) evening, 37 people, including women and children, came to the hospital due to gas cylinder explosion in Konabari Telichala area of Kaliakoi. Of these, 34 were hospitalized that night.
