Ramanathapuram: In Ramanathapuram, five people were arrested in the case of trying to set fire to two cars of the BJP-backed government Dr. Manoj Kumar. While their bail plea was dismissed yesterday, the National Security Act was launched against the two.
Two cars were set on fire at Manojkumar’s house in Thiruvalluvar Street, Kenikarai. Chakarkottai Zinda Muhammad son of Seydu Ibrahimsha 27, Lakshmipuram Uranikarai Mohammad son of Seeni Mohammad Abdul Hakeem 32, Khansagib Street Mohammad Ibrahim son of Mohammad Mansoor 35, Omshakti Nagar Sadiq Badshah son Abdul Aziz 28, Lakshmipuram Tenkarai Shekh Ali son of Mohammad Ansar were arrested.
Kenikar police are looking for Amjat Ali, son of Kamal, Khanzagib street. Chief District Judge Vijaya rejected the bail plea of 5 people in jail.
The National Security Act was passed
Collector Johny Tom Varghese ordered the jailing of Ibramshah, 27, and Abdul Aziz, 28, who were directly involved in setting the car on fire, on the recommendation of SP, Thangadurai, under the National Security Act. Both were lodged in Madurai Jail.
