28-year-old D. Rapšys won the 200 m freestyle in 1 minute. 46.41 sec. and confidently finished first. Estonian Kregor Zirks came second (1:48.68), and 15-year-old T. Juška came third (1:49.48). The young Lithuanian swimmer achieved a new personal best in the final and was close to Daniil Pancerev’s national record for under-17 boys (1:49.40) – he was only 0.08 seconds short of it.

D. Rapšys won his qualifying swim when he finished in 1 minute. 49.03 sec. T. Juška, who swam in the adjacent track, came second here (1:50.36) and improved his career record (1:50.85). It is interesting that after 100 m both Lithuanians touched the wall at the same time (53.34), but D. Rapšys was faster in the distance.

Lithuanian swimmers were the fastest in the morning among all 93 qualified participants.

Since 2018, the record of this competition has been held by D. Rapšius – 1 min. 45.12 sec. The native of Panevėžys is also the author of the Lithuanian record (1:44.38).

A. Šidlauskas took third place in the 100 m breaststroke in the A final, both in the morning and in the evening. The Panevėžian covered the distance in 1 minute. 0.13 sec. and was slightly faster than in the qualifying competition (1:00.39).

The gold here went to the Dutchman Arno Kamminga (59.23), who broke the competition record, and his compatriot Caspar Corbeau (59.58) won the silver.

A. Šidlauskas is aiming for the Olympic standard for this event, which is 59.49 seconds.

He set his career record (59.12) in 2017, and this year he swam the fastest in 59.79 seconds.

In the western part of the competition, Džiugas Miškinis participated in the strongest 1500 m freestyle swimming. The Kaunian finished sixth here and covered the distance in 15 minutes. 42.08 sec. He also finished sixth overall.

The gold medal here went to Swedish record holder Victor Johansson (15:04.97), silver went to Alexander Aslak Nørgaard of Denmark (15:22.94), and bronze to German Paulo Strehlke Delgado (15:23.00).
