“Dabaiba” directs the establishment of a specialized authority for diabetes

The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, directed the Ministry of Health to work on establishing a specialized authority for diabetes, which supervises diabetes centers, and works to provide and distribute medicines in coordination with the Medical Supply Authority, in addition to holding awareness and educational programs.

This came during a meeting held on Monday evening with members of the National Diabetes Program, in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Hospital Affairs, Saad Abdul Wakil, the heads of the General Giving Committee, the Medical Supply Committee, and a number of directors of diabetes centers.

The official “Our Government” platform reported that the meeting was held to follow up on the regulatory procedures for diabetes patients.

During the meeting, Abdul-Wakeel presented a position on diabetes centers and their conditions, the mechanism for supplying and distributing medicines from the Medical Supply Authority, the proposals submitted by the national program to organize this file, and work on developing the national guide for diagnosing and treating diabetes approved in 2010.

In turn, Dabaiba stressed the need to launch a unified system for diabetes patients, which contains patient data, the type of medications, and the centers affiliated with him, so that the medical supply apparatus can supply medications according to the system data, in addition to accurately counting the numbers and knowing their ages and cities, which contributes to making sound decisions in supplying medications and ensuring their distribution.
