The head of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, stressed the need to implement all the provisions of the public tender, focus on contracting with pharmaceutical manufacturing companies, and facilitate documentary procedures to ensure implementation according to the timetable.
This came during his meeting, this afternoon, at the Cabinet Office, with the acting Minister of Health, Ramadan Abu Janah, in the presence of the General Tender Committee, the Medical Supply Management Committee, the Audit Bureau, the Administrative Control Authority, and the Central Bank of Libya.
During the meeting, Dabaiba followed up on the implementation of the public tender and identified the problems and difficulties facing its implementation.
Dabaiba stressed to the attendees the necessity of continuing to implement the national project that has been suspended for many years, considering it a corrective step for the health sector.
For his part, the Chairman of the Public Tender Committee explained that the Ministry of Health has implemented a large part of its provisions, especially oncology, diabetes and kidney medicines, stressing the committee’s commitment to contracting with global manufacturing companies to ensure product quality.
Dabaiba stressed the need for the General Authority for Information to complete the installation of the drug distribution system, and that distribution and follow-up should only take place through it.
The Prime Minister also directed the National Cancer Control Authority to coordinate with the Medical Supply Authority and the Public Tender Committee to provide the necessary medicines for each medical case, and to develop an urgent plan in this regard.
