Dabaiba stresses the need to develop the country’s tax system

The head of the national unity government, Abdul Hamid al-Dabaiba, stressed the need to develop the tax system in the country and implement systems that contribute to the quality and organization of work.

This came during an inspection tour made by Al-Dabaiba, accompanied by the Minister of Economy and Trade, Muhammad Al-Huwaij, to the Tax Authority to follow up on its activities and find out its plan for the current year 2023.

According to the Prime Minister’s Media Office, the discussion focused on the automation of the authority and its branches to eliminate fraud and delay in the nature of work and the extent of the success of the 2023 plan in increasing public revenues and supporting the authority’s efforts to prevent tax evasion.

At the end of the meeting, Al-Dabaiba directed the need for coordination between the Ministries of Economy and Finance and the Central Bank of Libya to discuss a number of exemptions granted to a type of activity to support and stand with it.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Finance, Khaled Al-Mabrouk, the Deputy Head of the Authority, Omar Al-Zarrouk, and a number of directors of departments, offices, and sections of the Tax Authority.
