A Timeline of Events

The saga began on Jan. 4, when clemson’s general manager, Jordan Sorrells, first connected with Ferrelli’s agent, Ryan Williams of Athletes First.ferrelli and his father visited Clemson on Jan. 5, after a visit to Ole Miss earlier that same day. According to Swinney, Ferrelli’s father described the Ole Miss visit as “a mess, it was unorganized, it was chaos, the building was a mess and nobody knew what was going on.”

Following a campus visit on Jan. 6, Ferrelli, his father, and his agent verbally accepted Clemson’s offer, which included a potential revenue-sharing agreement. By Jan. 11, Ferrelli had moved to Clemson, signed a lease, and purchased a car, fully integrated into the program and participating in winter workouts.

Allegations of Tampering

The situation took a turn on Jan. 14, when Ferrelli’s agent informed Sorrells that Ole miss was aggressively pursuing Ferrelli despite his commitment to Clemson. swinney initially gave Golding “some grace,” acknowledging he was new to his role as head coach. However, the situation escalated when Ferrelli told Clemson staff that Golding had texted him during class and that Ole Miss quarterbacks Trinidad Chambliss and Jaxson Dart had also contacted him.

The most startling revelation came when Ole Miss allegedly offered Ferrelli a two-year contract worth $2 million. According to Swinney, Ferrelli’s agent offered to provide text documentation of the tampering in exchange for Clemson extending Ferrelli’s revenue-sharing contract by one year and $1 million-an offer Clemson declined.

Clemson’s Response and Fallout

On Friday, Jan. 16, Ferrelli informed Clemson he would re-enter the transfer portal, ultimately committing to Ole Miss. He emphasized the school’s willingness to cooperate with any investigation.Swinney, while not seeking to punish individuals, called for Ole Miss to take “ownership” of the situation, comparing it to “having an affair on yoru honeymoon.”

Clemson officials reported that as late as 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 16, Ferrelli was at the Clemson football facility reiterating his commitment to the Tigers.
