The reggaeton player Daddy Yankee He faced this Friday in a Puerto Rico court face to face with his wife, whom he accuses of embezzling millions of dollars, for control of the artist’s companies.
The singer of hits like “Gasolina” and “Despacito” told the media upon his arrival at the court in San Juan that he was “very calm.”
The battle between Daddy Yankee and Mireddys began last week, shortly after announcing their divorce on social media.
The 47-year-old Puerto Rican reggaeton singer filed a lawsuit against González and his sister.
They are accused of withdrawing 80 million dollars without their authorization from an El Cartel Records account and another 20 million from Los Cangris.
The “King of Reggaeton” demands that justice rule on the control of the companies he founded, as well as access to their information and bank accounts.
According to the judicial document, they request “the immediate cessation of the parties from any function or interference in the companies as managers or administrators.
“It is not possible for him to continue his career without having access to everything that is in the hands of the corporation,” said his lawyer, Carlos Díaz Olivo.
Díaz Olivo insisted on the accusations of lack of financial transparency against the González sisters.
He also used them as an essential argument to block his access to the singer’s estate accounts.
“Just a week ago an attempt was made to withdraw one hundred million dollars!” he exclaimed on the stand.

For its part, the legal team of González, president of El Cartel Records, denied that the sisters withdrew that figure.
“A dividend was declared where 50 million were deposited in his personal account, and the other 50 in her personal account.”
The couple, one of the longest in the Latin American music scene, share three daughters and are settling their divorce in another court.
Daddy Yankee, whose real name is Ramon Ayala Rodriguezbegan his musical career as a teenager and at the age of 20 he was already filling stadiums.
But it was his bombastic 2004 hit, “Gasolina,” that made him a true star and turned reggaeton into a global phenomenon.
The musician said goodbye to the stage with a vast tour in 2023 and since then has dedicated himself to spreading his faith.
