This Monday, April 15, 2024, the Dixinn criminal court began the confrontation phase in the trial of the events of September 28, 2009 with the accused.
Thus, Captain Moussa Dadis Camara, Aboubacar Diakité, alias Toumba and Marcel Guilavogui were the first called to the helm.
At the start of this phase of the confrontations, the president of the criminal court Ibrahim Sory II Tounkara wanted to know the name of the person who assumed the functions of regimental commander.
If for Dadis it is Toumba, the main person concerned affirms that the roles are well defined in the army. He was appointed aide-de-camp and his role was limited to the living room. It was Dadis who was regimental commander, says Toumba.
Marcel Guilavogui agreed in the same vein, declaring that Dadis was commander of the regiment in his capacity as military leader.
Questions also revolved around who commanded the presidential guard, the president’s outings, the militias of the Kalia camp, the marabouts, the coordination of the presidential guard among others.
Aboubacar Diakité, alias Toumba in his responses tinged with Koranic verses and Marcel Guilavogui leaning on the Bible have all declared that the army is structured and that the leader must take responsibility and assume responsibility.
It is up to Dadis, according to Marcel, to take the courage and tell the truth since, in his capacity as Head of State, it was he who had the power of appointment through a Decree.
Captain Moussa Dadis Camara returned to the charge to say that he had placed his complete trust in Aboubacar Diakité, alias Toumba who, according to him, was at the same time aide-de-camp, regimental commander and head of the presidential guard.
Toumba for his part challenges President Dadis to give the court an act appointing him as regimental commander.
In any case, Aboubacar Diakité, alias Toumba claims that on the day of September 28, 2009, he had given firm instructions so that the presidential guard and President Dadis Camara did not leave the Alpha Yaya Diallo camp on September 28, 2009.
The debates continue and we will come back.
