München – The fans of “Dahoam is dahoam” have to be brave!

TV star Horst Kummeth (66) reduces his days of shooting for the successful BR series, in which he mimics the Forchheim pharmacist Roland Bamberger.

“From July 1st, my contract will be reduced to 50 percent. I will then only be in front of the camera in Dachau for 6 days instead of 12-16 days a month,” says Kummeth to BILD.

He realizes that he is no longer 30 and after 16 years in the series simply wants to step down.

The daily series has been running on BR Fernsehen since 2007 and tells loving stories about the fictional village of Lansing with Bavarian characters.

With gigantic success for third programs: the ratings are around 800,000 viewers daily from Monday to Friday.

Kummeth has been there from the start. Now he slows down.

The actor to BILD: “It’s already good for me when I think about it. And I’m very grateful to the production for granting me this wish. Bamberger’s role will be smaller, but not less important.”

The character of Bamberg with his pharmacy in Lansing is extremely popular with fans of the series. His behavior, to help everyone with words and deeds, even flowed into the Lansinger vocabulary as “bambergern”.

The new screenplays are currently being written, with a reduced Bamberger. Kummeth does not yet know how the role will change.

His contract runs until the end of the year, after which it will be renegotiated. Open end.

“I’ll be 67 in December. I want to have more time for my wife, my family, for my work in the church,” says Kummeth to BILD.

“And I also want to have the chance to play something completely different. I would be very interested in that. That wasn’t possible until now because I was completely involved in the ‘Dahoam is dahoam’ series.”

Another series role is out of the question for Kummeth.
