Weather Forecast: Early Showers Clearing, Mostly Sunny Days Ahead

Sunday is expected to be a mixed bag when it comes to weather in the region, with early showers giving way to brighter skies later in the day. However, there is still a chance of a few storms lingering through the afternoon, so outdoor plans may need to be flexible.

According to a somewhat subjective rating, the day’s weather is given a 6 out of 10. While it won’t be perfect, conditions are expected to improve as the day progresses.

The forecast for today includes the possibility of a few showers and storms, with temperatures reaching the upper 80s to near 90. Tonight is expected to be partly to mostly clear, with lows ranging from near 70 to the low 70s.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, the outlook is mostly sunny and not as humid. Highs are expected to reach the low 90s, providing ideal conditions for outdoor activities.

The current high humidity levels will continue to fuel the chance of showers and storms throughout the day. However, drier conditions are expected this evening and overnight, bringing calmer and less humid weather for tomorrow and midweek. While there may still be a chance of a pop-up shower on most days, the overall forecast period will remain warm, with temperatures near or above 90 degrees.

As for today, early-morning showers and storms are expected to subside for the majority of the area after 8 a.m. However, isolated to scattered showers or storms could still occur through the afternoon. Areas south of the Beltway, particularly towards Fredericksburg and Southern Maryland, should be on guard for a cluster of storms late morning into early afternoon. Skies will start off mostly cloudy, gradually brightening to partly sunny in the afternoon. Highs will range from the upper 80s to near 90, accompanied by high humidity.

Tonight, the chance of isolated storms diminishes after 7 p.m. Weather conditions will become slightly less humid, with light winds from the northwest and lows near 70 to the low 70s.
