Dakhla: Awareness meeting on financial education for residents of the local prison

Initiated by the local prison 2 of Dakhla, in partnership with the Regional Directorate of the National Agency for the Fight against Illiteracy of Dakhla-Oued Eddahab and Bank Al-Maghrib -Agence Laâyoune-, this meeting aims to contribute to strengthening the financial culture of prisoners, by highlighting good practices in this area, within the framework of a program supervised by the said Agency.

In a statement to MAP, the director of the local prison 2 of Dakhla, Ali Aabbane, indicated that this meeting is of great importance, insofar as it will allow the inmates to consolidate their financial culture, and this within the framework of the efforts deployed by this penitentiary establishment aimed at the reintegration of this category within society.

For his part, the regional director of the National Agency for the Fight against Illiteracy in Dakhla-Oued Eddahab, Abdellah Rihim, stressed that this meeting is part of a program targeting inmates, women and men, of the prisons of Es-Semara, Laâyoune and Dakhla.

This meeting, he continued, is part of the promotion of financial education, with particular emphasis on the methods of payment by bank check.

Speaking on this occasion, several residents welcomed this initiative especially since it allowed them to share good methods of using the check which is considered an important payment instrument.

This meeting, which was punctuated by the broadcast of a series of awareness capsules focusing on financial culture, is part of the implementation of the strategy of the General Delegation of Prison Administration and Reintegration (DGAPR), aimed in particular at the training and qualification of prisoners, with a view to facilitating their reintegration into society after their release.
