Severe Storms Threaten North Texas through Weekend, Flood Watch Issued

A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect for North Texas until midnight tonight, following an earlier tornado warning for palo Pinto County, as a series of storm systems move through the region. Residents are bracing for potential high winds, heavy rainfall, and localized flooding through Saturday, with cooler temperatures expected to arrive mid-week.

The National Weather Service reports that North Texans experienced a brief respite from storms early Friday morning before conditions deteriorated again. A severe thunderstorm watch signifies conditions are favorable for the advancement of severe thunderstorms in and near the watch area.

Rainfall totals are predicted to range from 1 to 3 inches across the region, with isolated areas potentially receiving 4 to 5 inches.

Weekend Outlook: Gusty winds and Lingering showers
