jpnn.comSEMARANG – The General Chairperson of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) Yahya Cholil Staquf expressed the analogy of a broken car for the National Awakening Party (PKB).

Gus Yahya, as he is familiarly called, likened PKB to a Toyota product that had to be withdrawn from circulation for repairs due to a system error.

This was stated by Gus Yahya after attending the inauguration of the Central Java Nahdlatul Ulama Regional Management (PWNU Jateng) at the Sultan Agung Islamic University (Unissula) Semarang, Saturday (3/8).

“Yesterday, Toyota produced a car, it was launched on the market, it was already selling, it turned out there was a system error in the car, so in the end the car was recalled to have the system repaired,” he said.

In his speech before hundreds of PWNU Central Java cadres, Gus Yahya emphasized that NU’s position must be above the state, not below the party. The statement was a message from Mustasyar PBNU Ahmad Mustofa Bisri.

“My friends and I from PBNU visited the advisor KH Mustofa Bisri, asked for his message, his will for us, and he said that NU must be above the state,” said Gus Yahya.

He said that Gus Mus’ message could be interpreted that NU must submit its interests. Including overcoming various partial interests that exist in Indonesia.

According to him, Gus Mus’ message will bring NU to be able to continue to contribute to supporting the integrity of the nation and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

Gus Yahya mentioned a damaged car that had to be withdrawn from the market as an analogy for PKB.
