CHENNAI : A managing partner of a leading company from Chennai purchased a high-end ‘Audi Q7 3.0 TDI, Quattro’ car from a dealer in Nandanam on 21st January 2009.
Within months of purchase, the car had frequent ‘brake’ repairs. Despite servicing several times, the car continued to break down due to the ‘brake’ problem. Subsequently, the managing partner filed a case in the State Consumer Grievance Redressal Commission.
After arguments from both sides, a bench comprising Commission Chairman Justice R. Subbiah and Member R. Venkatesaperumal passed the order:
Negligence, a lack of service is evident. Therefore, the car manufacturing company in Mumbai has to pay Rs.60.08 lakh to the petitioner along with Rs.25 thousand as litigation expenses.
This is stated in the order.
