A local news agency has reported that there are ongoing Israeli attacks in Damascus, the capital of Syria, tonight (Monday-Tuesday). The air defense systems in the region managed to intercept several missiles, but two people lost their lives and multiple others were injured in the fourth attack in less than a week.
Typically, Israel’s attacks in Syria are aimed at damaging shipments of weapons or targeting Hezbollah or Shia militias. However, this response attack appears unusual not only in terms of its scope but also its goals, especially following recent security incidents such as a drone infiltration.
It is worth noting that in a separate attack by Israel in Syria last weekend, five Syrian military personnel were hurt in the Homs region, and a Hezbollah member lost their life.
