Damyang-gun was selected as the best organization in the 2024 local price stability management evaluation by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. Damyang-gun (Governor Lee Byeong-no) was selected as the highest grade, ‘A’ level local government, in the ‘2024 Local Price Stability Management Evaluation’ hosted by the Ministry of Public Administration and Security and secured 100 million won in special grant tax.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety comprehensively evaluated 243 local governments across the country on △ stabilization of local public rates △ support for revitalization of businesses with good prices △ personal service fee inflation rate △ efforts to stabilize local prices and selected local governments that made efforts to stabilize prices.
In this evaluation, Damyang-gun was recognized for its efforts in promoting various support projects, such as freezing local public rates that are directly related to the lives of ordinary people, as well as revitalizing businesses with good prices, and achieved the feat of being selected as the best organization for two consecutive years in 2023.
In particular, the implementation of policies unique to Damyang-gun, such as △Electricity bill support project for small business owners in Damyang-eup, △Additional 5% accumulation project through Damyang Love Gift Certificate Policy Contest, and △Reduction of store usage fees following the opening of Damyang Market’s permanent market, received positive evaluations.
County Governor Lee Byeong-no said, “This selection as the best institution was possible thanks to the cooperation of many residents,” and added, “We will continue to actively promote various price policies that residents can feel in order to restore the people’s livelihood and economy.”
Meanwhile, Damyang-gun achieved the feat of being selected for the long-term care home medical center contest hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare for two consecutive years.
The county established a home medical team and promoted a pilot project this year to visit seniors with mobility issues among long-term care recipients and provide visiting, nursing, and care services.
The public health center’s home medical team consists of doctors, nurses, and social workers. There is one public health center team and 11 public health branch teams. The doctor provides medical visits at least once a month, the nurse provides visiting nursing at least twice a month, and the social worker provides nursing care through periodic consultations. Provides identification and connection of care needs.
In particular, since the patient visits the patient directly for treatment, it receives positive reviews from both users and providers as it provides not only physical health but also living environment, emotional stability, and welfare linkage.
Kim Jong-yoon, a public health doctor who ran the project, cited the case of an elderly patient living alone, saying, “Most of the patients we visit are elderly people living alone, so we need to take care of not only their physical but also their mental health.”
He said, “After the death of his eldest son, the old man suffered from depression and lethargy and often skipped meals, saying he had no appetite. Moreover, the house was not in order and there was no heating equipment, so there was no way to help the patient beyond relieving the pain.” “I tried to find it,” he said.
Afterwards, nurses worked to provide emotional stability along with basic health tests, social workers provided welfare services such as meal support and food bank support, and public health center mental health teams managed emotional health to restore emotional stability to the elderly.
County Governor Lee Byeong-no said, “Home medical centers are the core of rural welfare where seniors can receive necessary medical care and care while continuing to live in the community,” and added, “We will do our best to operate them together with the visiting residents’ health guardian project and the Our Village Doctor project to help the elderly. “We will ensure that people can live a healthy and happy old age in the region without having to leave their hometown,” he said.
