Dana International Revealing her life to the cameras for the first time: last night an international media event was held in preparation for the launch of yes’s new reality show starring Dana International, “Dana Kama” – a crazy, exciting, and fascinating docu-reality comedy about our most international diva. After becoming a cultural icon and a symbol of freedom and victory, an ambassador of Israel and the eternal queen of the LGBT community, here comes the series that will reveal to us who we all seemingly know, but no one really knows anything about.
For 30 years Dana has been a part of Israeli culture: a beloved singer, a trailblazing icon and one of the most well-known and talked about women in Israel. But despite all this she managed to jealously guard her privacy and remained a mysterious Angima even after all these years. More than anything, she made sure to keep her family and friends out of the spotlight and the world of Dana the singer. At the center of the series is the relationship between Dana and her manager Shai Keremwho is the closest person to her, and together after two years of Corona, they set out to conquer the stages and the world together, where today’s Dana is revealed in an unprecedented way without makeup and without masks, in intimate moments with her mother, meals with her siblings, and conversations with close friends.

In an interview with TMI, she told International: “You are going to see a very intriguing, kick-ass docu-reality, with lots of surprises, lots of fights, lots of drama, lots of people I am exposing for the first time in my life, my family, my friends, my neighbors, people I hang out with On the street, I show the real me. You’re going to see me arguing a lot with Shay, my manager for 30 years, you’re going to see me arguing with the photographer, with the team that accompanies us, cooking at home, traveling, intrigues with people outside, interactions with people outside. The real Dana , I really gave myself.”
I understand that this is going to be different from anything we’ve seen from Dana International to date.
“It’s going to be different, you can also get scared, I lose my temper sometimes in the series. It’s a docu within a docu, an ID that wasn’t made in Israel, the director and the series’ photographers are also filmed there, in the process, if there’s a fight, everyone is photographed, if there are arguments, the arguments are filmed , they never made a cut to the camera.”
Many remember the video in which International verbally attacks the Keshet news reporter, Reut Barzilai, who tried to interview the singer as part of the song launch event of Nicol Raidman, following the question “What are you doing here?” International replied to her in a video that went viral: “I came to find convenient services and excrete secretions.” The reporter tried her luck again: “You came to favor Nicole, I understand.” International, for its part, continued to attack: “Then why the stupid questions?”.
Everyone remembers the scene where she fought with the reporter.
“I didn’t fight with the reporter. You use a harsh word. I didn’t scold her, it wasn’t at the level of a fight at all, it was to tell the reporter a few sentences and leave, not to fight.”
So when we saw you a lot with reporters or in more difficult places with people, was it a kind of play for this character that you are getting stronger?
“No, it was a form of self-defense, a form of challenging me. If someone deserves to fight with me, I will fight with them, I don’t give up.”
Because the way she addressed you was not pleasant?
“Because she knew why I came, she was found 30 meters from Nicole’s event, and she knew why I came, and she could guess. And if she didn’t guess, then she was the one who was posted. To ask me what I came to do here? I didn’t come to fish. So at the level of the questions – like this Also the answers”.

“I don’t know, maybe my desire to protect myself, my impatience with stupid people, I have no idea. It comes out and it’s actually quite loved.”
Noa Kirel is going to represent us at Eurovision soon, do you have any tips for her?
“Absolutely not. Noa is very smart, she’s made of celebrity stuff, she’s made of winner stuff, and I wish her all the best in the world. We talked in the yes commercial, and she’s charming, she has a family that stands behind her, pushes her, she’s a perfectionist and she doesn’t need To no one to advise her.”
