Dance, on the outgoing International Day #Maledancer, a tribute to male art

by time news

Deborah D’Orta’s new book, ‘#MaleDancer’, dedicated to male dance and its protagonists, will be released today, on the occasion of the International Day of Dance. After the success of the book ‘#Dancer’, released in 2020 by Buckfast Edizioni, in which ten artists (étoile, prima ballerinas and performers applauded all over the world) told each other on an exciting journey into the world of female dance, is released today the second volume dedicated to Dance and its protagonists. This project is the confirmation of the passion that the author Deborah D’Orta has for dance, with the firm desire to continue talking about an art that increasingly needs to be supported and valued.

A passing of the baton from dancers to dancers. A voice that moves from feminine to masculine, but which retains the same strength, the same determination, the same courage. A voice against any prejudice that sees dance as a discipline only for the female gender, as if art were the prerogative of only one gender. Chasing your dream is for everyone. Dance is for everyone and everyone.

With the coordination and supervision of Elisa Labanca who, as a publisher, believed once again in the project, it was possible to give voice to Alessandro Riga, Alejandro Parente, Christian Fagetti, Francesco Mariottini, Mick Zeni, Marco Agostino, Giorgio Azzone, Hektor Budlla, Alessandro Macario, the duo Sasha Riva and Simone Repele, Danilo Notaro, Alessio Rezza and Giuseppe Stancanelli. All first dancers of international fame, and some of them, today, also established choreographers and maître de ballet, who have trod the most prestigious stages. The preface is by maestro Giuseppe Carbone, former dancer, choreographer, director of the ballet corps and of the major European companies.
