Danger to life: Jump on rooftop trains in New York

by time news

Just a few days ago we wrote about a dangerous TikTok trend that led to the death of an 18-year-old boy after he jumped in front of a moving truck. We have not yet recovered from the shock, and a new challenge has already emerged. And this time: jumping and running on train cars.

New York: Eight people were seen jumping from car to car, running on the roof of the subway that crossed the Williamsburg Bridge toward Brooklyn. New York police said they are investigating the June 10 incident.

The video was posted on social media, went viral and garnered millions of views. “Crazy! This is a death threat!”, Wrote one surfer. Shani responded: “Why pay when you can travel on the roof?”. Tuesday added: “Too bad we heard about one of them in tomorrow’s newspaper.”

This is not the first time people have performed dangerous stunts on the roofs of train carriages. Another person was killed in 2021 when he fell from the roof of a caravan near the exact same bridge. Also in 2017, a 27-year-old man died when he fell from a train while trying to jump from one caravan to another, and in 2019, a 14-year-old boy was killed while trying to jump from a train in Queens.
