Early this Sunday, the Vice Ministry of Transportation (VMT), together with the Land Traffic Division of the National Civil Police (PNC), installed vehicle controls in different places in the country with the aim of verifying that drivers respect the traffic regulations. traffic and at the same time remove people who drive while intoxicated from circulation.
In these vehicle checkpoints, 11 people were arrested for the crime of dangerous driving. The control devices were installed on San Antonio Abad Street, in San Salvador; in San Juan Opico, La Libertad; and at kilometer 17 and a half of the Golden Highway.
At the checkpoint installed at kilometer 17 and a half of the Oro highway, Kevin Orlando Carbajal, 31, was arrested and found to have 136 milligrams per deciliter of alcohol in exhaled air.
During these vehicular devices, traffic agents requested the required documentation such as a driver’s license and circulation card from motorists.
The VMT authorities remind the population that above 50 milligrams per deciliter of alcohol in exhaled air the driver is subject to a fine and above 100 he is arrested.
