Daniel Grant is the son of Scout and Avram, actor and singer. Not long ago he released two songs from his debut album that will be released soon, and took a big and significant step towards a musical career. In an interview with Kippah, we talked with him about the dream that was born, the hacking attempt and the parents in question.
When did you realize you wanted to do music?
wow The truth is that it wasn’t even a dream, it was a kind of fantasy. Not from a point of view, but from a realistic place. I’m an actor and I didn’t think I could sing, but I did write in the last few years. I haven’t read it to anyone in a long time. Until I met Gadi Gidor, and he guided me and pushed me, and introduced me to Ben Chopin who made it realistic. It didn’t start at a young age.
On Scout Grant: “She contributes to me in general as my mother”
Your mother is a very talkative person. Does it help or hinder?
I don’t see it that way. It contributes to me in many ways, she contributes to me in general as my mother, supporter and advisor, especially when she comes from the world of art. In the advertising section this is for better or worse, it is both an advantage and a disadvantage.
Does it bother you that they talk to you about your mother and not about your songs?
It doesn’t bother me, there’s nothing to do, it’s part of it. I can’t ignore it, it’s my parents, I’m the proudest of it in the world. I really like that people mainly deal with music. A lot of people deal with this too and that’s perfectly fine, I know where I’m from.

“My parents are the best friends in the world”
Your parents’ divorce was very publicized. Is this something that accompanies you?
Definately not. My parents’ divorce was warm and loving, and they are the best friends in the world. My father has lived abroad since I was a child, it’s not that my life has changed.
You grew up as a child in a well-connected home. Doesn’t that deter you from entering this world as well?
I am used to it. It’s hard for me to answer that. I don’t think about it like that, I really like making music and want to make music.

“I always play the song to Shuli”
Did you consult Shuli before entering this world?
I consulted Shuli about songs, about writing, I always play him a song before he goes out. He is always interested and asking.
What is your ambition in the field?
I would like to continue and not stop, to continue making music non-stop. I bring me to my songs. I’m talking about myself, my family, what I’ve been through in life. Everything is involved with my family, my sister sings the chorus, my partner made the music video, my mom and dad accompany me all the way, so I try to do things that are mine.
