Daniel Jadue, former mayor of Recoleta, left the Capitán Yáber prison annex after remaining in preventive detention for more than 90 dayswithin the framework of the so-called Popular Pharmacies case.

“I am very happy. The right has finally been restored. I am very happy with this ruling, very happy with this ruling, because this ruling did not prove the commission of any crime, nor my participation in it,” Jadue declared.

Along these lines, the former communal leader pointed out that “now I have to prove my innocence, and I can only regret all the mistreatment of all those who have boasted and celebrated the loss of freedom of any human being.”

The Third Guarantee Court of Santiago ordered house arrest and national grounding for Daniel Jadue, who is being investigated for crimes of bribery, disloyal administration, tax fraud and fraud in the Farmacias Populares case.
