Daniele De Rossi Fired, Who Is AS Roma’s New Coach

AS Roma suddenly announced that they were parting ways with coach Daniele De Rossi. The club officially announced De Rossi’s dismissal on Wednesday (18/9).

The decision was seen as a surprise as De Rossi only extended his contract until 2027 last June after six months as interim coach replacing Jose Mourinho.

“The club’s decision was made in the interest of the team, to get back on track as soon as possible even though the season is still in its early stages,” Romaigh said in an official statement.

“Many thanks to Daniele, who will always be at home at the Giallorossi club, for the work he has done in recent months with great passion and enthusiasm.”

Yellow and red have not won after playing four League A games in the 2024/2025 season. This poor start to the season led to De Rossi’s eventual sacking.

Roma have only won three points from four Serie A games by scoring two goals.

Last season, Roma finished sixth in Serie A and progressed to the semi-finals of the Europa League. This record was enough to convince the club to make the contract permanent but a negative record at the start of this season broke that.

According to reports Sky Sport ItaliaRoma have contacted three coaches to replace De Rossi, namely Ivan Juric, Edin Terzic and Stefano Pioli.

However, AC Milan coach Pioli will be hard to come by as he has moved to Saudi Arabia to coach Al-Nassr (M-3).
