KYIV. April 23. UNN. Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, believes that today all attempts to initiate a peaceful settlement are pro-Russian. And only weapons can become a winning argument in communication with the enemy. About this, as reported UNNDanilov wrote on his Facebook page.

Quote

“When the goal of the Russian aggressor remains unchanged – the destruction of Ukraine, the initiatives for a peaceful settlement that have been heard recently are nothing more than pro-Russian peacemaking.

Don’t always put us at the negotiating table, give us enough weapons. Weapons are the best mediator and the only understandable argument for communication for the Russian Federation,” Danilov believes.

Context

Such a statement by Danilov was heard against the background of calls from representatives of various countries to settle the military conflict through negotiations.

In particular, the President of Brazil Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva recently again called for a negotiated settlement of the war between Kyiv and Moscow. In addition, there was information that French President Emmanuel Macron intends to involve China as a mediator in the negotiations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation. At the same time, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg emphasized that Ukraine itself decides when the time and acceptable conditions for any negotiations about its future will come.

In addition, the position of the People’s Republic of China as an impartial mediator has been repeatedly called into question, against the background of statements by representatives of Beijing. For example, recently the Chinese ambassador to France Lou Chaillet stated that the former Soviet countries “do not have an effective status in international law” and that Crimea historically belonged to Russia.
