There have already been heated discussions in the summer jungle camp – but also emotional conversations. Danni Büchner was in tears.

Emotions are running high on “I’m a Celebrity – The Jungle Legends Showdown”. There have already been several emotional outbursts among the candidates in the Legends Jungle Camp. There were loud arguments, but also emotional moments. Danni Büchner and Kader Loth shared one of these moments.
In a quiet moment, the women talked about losses in their lives. “My mother-in-law, who was like a second mother to me, died four weeks ago. It’s just too early and I haven’t processed it yet,” said Kader Loth, shedding a few tears. “There’s a big gap now.”
Danni Büchner found encouraging words for her fellow camper and shared her own experiences with the loss of a loved one. The 46-year-old has had to cope with several blows of fate in her life: the death of her first husband and also that of Jens Büchner, her second husband. The pop singer lost his battle with cancer in 2018.
Some photos of him are still in Danni Büchner’s house, as is the urn. “He wanted to be cremated and he wanted to go home,” said the influencer. She then remembered the last moments with her husband. “He was terrified, but he was also in terrible pain and he was given medication for the pain and to help his body slowly break down. Then I sat by his bed and at half past six…” she said. When they were alone, Jens Büchner fell asleep.
She cried a lot afterwards, reported Danni Büchner. “It was a difficult time, but it took me over two years to be able to breathe freely without always thinking about it.”
Later in the show, the mother of five children again gave an intimate insight into her emotional world. During the night watch with Sarah Knappik, she said that she had suffered from severe depression in the past – the reason for this was an abusive relationship. “For many years I was insulted, beaten, spat on. At some point I didn’t know what to do anymore. I believed everything this person said to me in anger,” she revealed. But she was unable to break up because of the emotional dependency.
“I needed help for my children. I asked people, including my family. Nobody helped me,” said Danni Büchner. Fearing she would lose her children, the reality TV celebrity sought therapeutic help because a doctor told her that if she didn’t get help, her eldest three children would have to go into a foster family. Her youngest two children, whom she later had with Jens Büchner, were not yet born at the time. When talking about her family, Büchner became emotional and couldn’t hold back her tears.
On August 15, “I’m a Celebrity – The Showdown of the Jungle Legends” started on RTL+. On linear television, the special broadcast to mark the show’s 20th anniversary only started one day later.
As usual, the jungle camp will be hosted by Sonja Zietlow and Jan Köppen. However, this year “I’m a Celebrity – The Showdown of the Jungle Legends” will not take place in Australia, but in South Africa. The show was also recorded. Filming took place several weeks ago.
